Weekend Wrap-Up, week of 5/15

by Sweet Tea & Taters on May 19, 2012

Hey!  It’s finally the weekend, it’s finally sunny outside, and I finally have plans!  YAHOO!  I’ve been sick all week which means I have been cooped up in bed but I think I’m finally on the upswing so I can get out of this house.  FINALLY!  My hubby is done with school, HALLELUJAH!, so we are having a date night which will include burgers and milkshakes at Bobby’s Burger Palace and a movie.  I can’t even remember the last movie I saw in a theatre.  I love going to the  movies but we have had no time to go see anything lately so I’m looking forward to the big screen and the popcorn!  Other than that, I am attending a baby shower this afternoon and having lunch with some fun friends tomorrow after church.  Should be a great weekend.  What are your plans?

This week on Sweet Tea & Taters…

I didn’t blog as much due to a stuffy head but here’s what I DID get on the plate this week:

Monday-  Ham & Cheese Pretzel Bites will make your next get together a success.  If all else fails, the pretzel bites will surely save the day!

Wednesday-  If you love Tiramisu, you must try this Tiramisu Bread with Espresso Spread!

Friday-  Who doesn’t love Mac & Cheese?!?  This Panera macaroni and cheese is just incredible.

Next week on ST&T…

  • A recipe involving brisket
  • Tequila Lime Chicken
  • A classic dessert

Panera Mac & Cheese

by Sweet Tea & Taters on May 18, 2012

I wonder how many thousands of recipes there are for macaroni and cheese?  I also wonder if I will ever find one that I do NOT like?!

Probably not.  Mac & cheese is one of those universal foods that everyone on the planet loves.  I’m always trying out new recipes and a couple of weeks ago Annie @ Annie’s Eats posted the Panera Bread style mac & cheese.  I had to try it out because my husband loves getting that mac & cheese when we go to Panera.  We both agreed that it tasted exactly like the Panera Bread recipe.  The cheese sauce is extremely thick and creamy, giving each pasta shell and nice coating of delicious, gooey sauce.  Make it this weekend for your family!  It’s terrific with chicken fingers, a nice green salad, or just by itself!
